ABOUT
Kidney and bladder discomfort can be frustrating and affect many areas of one’s life. At Balance Point Health, we’re proud of what we do and the care we give our patients. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create intentional solutions at every turn.
We treat many kidney & bladder concerns that afflict people of all ages across multitudes of differences. We understand that each case is individual and deserves a renewed sense of care and concern. We are committed to prioritizing non-invasive symptom management strategies to reduce the amount of additional stress put on the entire body, as we know procedures can increase stress rather than assuage it.
Our team offers evaluations and medication-based treatments and symptom management plans that are tailored to your lifestyle and meet your wellness goals.
CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Kidney Stones
The primary causes of kidney stones include chronic dehydration, high-sodium or high-animal protein diets, obesity, or genetic factors. Kidney stones form when urine contains more crystal-forming substances, like calcium or uric acid, than the fluid can dilute, allowing crystals to stick together and form stones. We resolve kidney stones through a combination of lifestyle adjustments, medical expulsive therapy (MET) for smaller stones, and minimally invasive surgical procedures may be recommended for larger stones. Common surgical techniques include ureteroscopy, shockwave lithotripsy (SWL), or percutaneous nephrolithothomy (PCNL) to break up or remove stones while minimizing recovery time.
We offer evaluation and medication based treatment and symptom management plans that help reduce symptoms and your overall discomfort.
Hematuria Evaluation
Hematuria (blood in urine) can be caused by conditions that impact the urinary tract like infections (UTIs), kidney stones, prostate enlargement in men, or cancer. Resolving this issue may include urinalysis to identify the underlying cause of the presence of blood, cystoscopy, or imaging. Hematuria is often resolved by infection treatment, stone removal, or monitoring.
We offer evaluation and medication based treatment and symptom management plans that help reduce symptoms and your overall discomfort depending on your lifestyle and wellness goals.
Overactive Bladder & Incontinence
Overactive Bladder (OAB) is primarily caused by involuntary bladder muscle contractions, often caused by nerve damage, aging, menopause, prostate enlargement (BPH), or pelvic floor weakness from childbirth. To treat OAB, we recommend starting with lifestyle adjustments, pelvic floor therapy, and bladder training. If symptoms persist, we offer treatments like medication to relax the bladder, minimally invasive procedures like botox injections, nerve stimulation, or vaginal pessaries.
We provide discreet evaluation and evidence-based medical treatment options and symptom management plans to help reduce symptoms and your overall discomfort.
Frequent UTIs are caused by bacteria entering the urethra, usually due to sexual activity, enlarged prostate (BPH), menopause-related hormonal changes, or genetic susceptibility. Our key treatments include low-dosage, long-term preventative antibiotics, post-coital antibiotics, vaginal estrogen for post-menopausal women, and non-antibiotic therapies. We may recommend minimally invasive procedures to improve urine flow and remove blockages. Urine cultures and imaging are essential to identify the specific cause of your issue and personalize your treatment plan.
We focus on symptom control, medication management, and coordinated care for your condition when needed.
